About

There are so many ideas as to what constitutes a photograph. A photographer either attempts to capture a moment, in other words “freezing” the subject of his or her attention, or will pre-visualise a scene, concept or idea and set about capturing it.  The common denominator, which most will agree on, is that the resulting image, either on film or in a digital format, is said to be a photograph.  Despite technical efforts made in the creative process, what is deemed as a good image is subjective and is purely a matter of personal taste.  Images resonate differently with  individuals. Some are drawn to Landscapes, which may include sweeping cityscapes or  countrysides, or some might lean towards portraiture or street photography depicting humanity at play consequently emphasising the fascinating idiosyncrasies that play out.  For me, the fun in photography is the unknown. Technically I comply with what photography by default demands; lighting, weather conditions, decent composition etc, but until I frame my subject and press the shutter button anything can happen that will define my final image. Here you will have an insight into my work and my vision and hopefully you will come across images that will resonate with you. From the moment I picked up my first DSLR in 2008 – there were numerous “point and shoots” prior to that point – photography has been a continuously growing passion for me and rewarding on two levels; the satisfaction from looking at my work and also the smile that appears on people’s faces when I have covered an event for them, be it a portrait session or a wedding. I shoot with Nikon branded full-frame cameras and Nikkor  lenses; 24 – 70mm, 70- 200mm and a selection of 50mm and 85mm prime lenses.  For portrait photography I use Godox lighting modifiers and accessories.
